Institutional Accreditation Certificate was Presented to KAEU with Shed Attirement Ceremony
The Institutional Accreditation Certificate Presentation Ceremony was held at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center as Kırşehir Ahi University was entitled to receive the "Institutional Accreditation Certificate" from the Higher Education Quality Board (THEQC). Kırşehir Governor Hüdayar Mete Buhara, THEQC President Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar, ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy, Kırşehir Deputy-Mayor Osman Uçar, Chief Public Prosecutor Soner Aygün, Justice Commission President Ömer Dadal, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, Rectors of member universities the Association of Anatolian Universities, the Kırşehir provincial protocol, academicians, administrative staff, and students attended the presentation ceremony held on 30 September 2022 at the 15 July National Will Hall.
The Institutional Accreditation Certificate Presentation Ceremony, which started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, continued with the Kırşehir Ahi Evran University promotional video. Student Quality Ambassador Sabiha Kırkaş made the opening speech of the program. Kırkaş said that it was very important for students to be involved in the quality process. Student Quality Ambassador Sabiha Kırkaş, who explained the activities they carried out as a group to the audience, emphasized that they wanted students to internalize the quality processes with those activities. Sabiha Kırkaş noted that they had been chosen as Student Quality Ambassadors from each unit and aimed to spread quality, and she thanked the management of our university for the support they provided at all stages.

After the speech of Student Quality Ambassador Sabiha Kırkaş, the Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya came forward and gave his speech. Noting that he was experiencing the excitement of the day and that he would briefly explain the processes of 6-7 years of hard work, Karakaya said, “Human is precious and we serve the youth, the special element of humanity, our responsibility is great. We set out to increase the value of this responsibility and contribute to humanity. The first point we reached as a result of the negotiations was that 'We must achieve both quality management and quality education. Afterward, we took the first step in the quality journey in 2015 and completed all the processes in 2016, and received the Quality Management Certificate from the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE). Of course, during that time, we completed a lot of training and reached the awareness of quality. Rector Karakaya, who noted that as the management, they constantly reflected on themselves during the process, noted that they asked themselves the following questions which bring the idea of Integrated Quality Management to life: How will we observe the work we do well, how will we be aware of our shortcomings, how will we realize our risks. Stating that each unit decided what to do through those questions, Karakaya stated that the decisions were uploaded to the e-campus system, which was the automation system.
Our Original Design in Quality was Shown as a Model by THEQC
Rector Karakaya, who stated that KAEU was a university that was accredited in every field in the quality processes, emphasized that they had designed the quality management system together with all the work processes. Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya stated that our university was shown as a model in the Higher Education Quality Board (THEQC) with its original design in quality. Karakaya said that they had promoted quality studies in many universities in higher education via their quality design. Referring to the Quality Assurance System in Education in his speech, Rector Karakaya said: “We have structured the system on three main elements that would guarantee the dreams of the students. What are they? They are the program design, i.e. curriculum, the assurance that the curriculum is implemented in the classrooms, and finally, a mechanism to measure the degree of learning outcome. We have transformed the logical expression of competence into a system in education.”
Both Our Integrated Quality Management System and AYDEP Received Patents
Explaining that in 2020, they placed AYDEP at the center of the quality assurance system in the education of the university with the decision they took in the senate, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya stated that both the Integrated Quality Management System and AYDEP received patents from the Turkish Patent Institute in the process. Rector Karakaya, who said that AYDEP had essential functions in other fields as well as assessing student proficiency, continued his speech as follows: “AYDEP is a student-friendly system that guarantees what we will teach, in a way which is free from arbitrariness and subjective phenomena. It is completely focused on the success of the student while it matches what is learned with the exam, and what should be learned with the related materials. It is a quality system that provides our students with the ease of accessing all the information they can learn while reducing the work of both the teacher and the student."
KAEU has never Believed in the Politique de "Fait Accompli", We Support Sustainability
Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya stated that they have never believed in the politique de "fait accompli" and that as a university, they have adopted a philosophy in favor of sustainability. Explaining that they also worked for the National Quality Movement and signed a contract, Karakaya expressed that they wanted to crown that journey by receiving the excellence award. He noted that KAEU had been physically developed with many buildings, contributed to the region with its pilot projects, and supported policies to reduce imports in agriculture and geothermal. Lastly, the Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who underlined that they were a university that evaluated its people according to Akhism, respected humanity internally and externally, and adopted the education of people as an ideal, ended his speech by thanking everyone who contributed to the process.
We Will Benefit From the Experiences of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University
After Rector Karakaya, Mehmet Kul, the Term President of the Association of Anatolian Universities and the Rector of Sivas Science and Technology University, made a speech. Stating that they would benefit from the experiences of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University in the process, Kul wished that the Institutional Accreditation Certificate would be beneficial for KAEÜ.
Prof. Dr. Karakaya is a Quality Person in His Life, By Receiving This Document, He Certified That
At the ceremony, OSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy made a speech. Noting that he had long-standing friendships with Rector Karakaya, Ersoy said: "Prof. Dr. Karakaya is a quality person in his life, I think he has certified that by getting this document here. The essential elements of universities are education, R&D, and social benefit. I think it is important for all individuals to go through that process for the realization of these benefits, and I hope that the document will realize its future projections.”
KAEU is one of the Leading Universities in terms of Quality
After the President of ÖSYM Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy, President of the Higher Education Quality Board (THEQC) Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar came to the podium. Noting that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University was a young university, Kar stated that KAEU was one of the leading universities in terms of quality. Chairman Kar stated that KAEU passed the external evaluation program of THEQC in 2017, was included in the monitoring program in 2020, and crowned its quality journey by entering the Institutional Accreditation Program in 2021. Giving information on what was done in the national and international arena about quality practices, Kar stated that quality processes had been given great importance in the world in recent years. Stating that universities must have constantly renewed themselves in order to achieve the results they expected from Quality Assurance Systems, Chairman Kar stated that that could only be possible with an institutionalized quality culture.
I'm Proud That a 15-Year-Old University Has Received This Quality Certificate
Finally, Kırşehir Governor Hüdayar Mete Buhara delivered a speech at the Institutional Accreditation Certificate Presentation Ceremony. Governor Buhara noted that he was proud that a 15-year-old university had received the quality certificate. Reminding that the accreditation studies were primarily made for students, Buhara wished that that internationally valid document would be beneficial for our city and our university.

After the speeches, the President of THEQC Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar stated that Shed was attired by the notables of the Ahi Society, and he attired Rector Karakaya with Ahi Shed and presented the Institutional Accreditation Certificate to Rector Karakaya. The ceremony ended with a group photo shoot.
