In line with our country’s National Technology Initiative goals, the establishment of National Technology Workshops in all 81 provinces is planned to help students turn their dreams, ideas, and projects into reality. As part of this major initiative, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University will contribute to training the skilled workforce needed for our domestic and national industry and support the technical and vocational education processes required by young entrepreneurs. Kırşehir Ahi Evran University is launching another significant project to support Turkey’s domestic and national technology movement. Under the 4003-T National Technology Workshops Call, the project titled “Kırşehir Ahi Evran University National Technology Workshop” has been approved for support by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), with a budget of up to 30 million TL.

As part of the project, national technology workshops will be established at universities and at science centers supported by TÜBİTAK. These workshops will include all the machines, equipment, and consumable materials needed by teams participating in science and technology competitions. These workshops will be designed as spaces where student teams participating in science and technology competitions can access all the machines, equipment, and consumable materials they need, and work together to develop projects. The National Technology Workshop to be established at the university aims to encourage young people to be productive, enhance their technological skills through hands-on training, and train individuals with a national vision.

Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil stated that universities should not only produce academic knowledge, but also guide society and lead development. He continued: “As Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, we continue to strongly support our country’s National Technology Initiative vision. The National Technology Workshop we will establish will not only provide knowledge to our students, but will also serve as a center where they can take part in production processes and turn their ideas into concrete projects. With this project, our goal is to prepare young people to become the engineers, scientists, and technology leaders of the future.”

The workshop will offer hands-on training in a variety of fields, including robotics, artificial intelligence, autonomous technologies, software development, electronic circuit design, 3D printing and manufacturing technologies. It will also support student projects, entrepreneurship activities, and preparations for national and international technology competitions.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş stated that the new workshop will not only serve university students, but also young people and technology enthusiasts across Kırşehir. He added, “Our National Technology Workshop will strengthen university-industry collaboration and offer a practice and production-based learning model. With this project, we aim to provide not only academic, but also economic and social contributions.”
The establishment of the National Technology Workshop is progressing rapidly. The workshop will be completed soon and opened to students and researchers. With this important project, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University aims to make a strong contribution to regional development and national goals in the areas of science, technology, and innovation. We sincerely thank TÜBİTAK and the TÜBİTAK/Science and Society Department for their valuable support.
