The “Bureaucracy Days with Youth” event was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, and the Socializing Through Various Activities Student Club. Held on October 8, 2025, at the 15 July National Will Hall of the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center, the event was attended by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Assoc. Prof. Dr. Safa Koçoğlu, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Kırşehir Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Yasin Çakmakçı, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, along with academic and administrative staff and students.
Before the event, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Assoc. Prof. Dr. Safa Koçoğlu paid a visit to Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil in his office. The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere and included discussions on the university’s sports activities, ongoing joint projects with the ministry, and potential future collaborations.
The protocol members proceeded to the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center for the event. efore the program, protocol members toured the YEŞİLAY Anti-Addiction Art Exhibition, organized jointly by our university and YEŞİLAY in the foyer. At the same time, students from the Neşet Ertaş Faculty of Fine Arts Music Department performed a musical recital.
The event began with an opening speech by Dr. Meryem Davutoğlu, advisor of the Student Community for Socializing Through Various Activities, who explained that the event was part of career days. She noted that the goal was to both inform and inspire young people, and she thanked everyone involved in the organization of the event.
Kırşehir Youth and Sports Provincial Director Yasin Çakmakçı then took the floor and spoke about the activities of the Provincial Directorate. Expressing his satisfaction at collaborating with the university, which he described as the star of the region, Çakmakçı provided detailed information about the University Student Societies Cooperation and Support Program (ÜNİDES) run by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and encouraged student clubs to develop projects. He emphasized that they would continue to offer every possible support to students and thanked everyone involved in organizing the program.
Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil addressed the audience, beginning by condemning Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza and commemorating Majd Ali, a student from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and five-year-old Hind Recep, both of whom lost their lives to Israeli violence. He urged students to boycott products from companies supporting Israel. Prof. Dr. Karahocagil then provided an overview of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, which was founded in 2006 and currently serves around 21,500 students -including 2,500 international students- with 1,000 academic and 700 administrative staff. He highlighted the university’s selection as a pilot institution for agriculture and geothermal fields within the 2016 Council of Higher Education’s Regional Development Project and described the implementation of three health and sports projects, focusing on the SAUTER Center. The center aims to develop geothermal-assisted sports health and health tourism activities, protect and enhance athletes’ health and performance, and improve quality of life in the region. SAUTER, located beneath the KAEU Stadium stands, covers 1,700 m² and is one of Turkey’s leading sports health centers, featuring more than 30 sections, including rehabilitation and assessment areas, special clinics, doctor’s offices, meeting rooms, administrative offices, social areas, fitness rooms, a sauna, showers, and changing rooms, as well as an adjacent football field and running track. Prof. Dr. Karahocagil stated that SAUTER aims to become a reference center for regional, national, and international athletes, and expressed a desire for further cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports within this project.
Highlighting the importance of the master-apprentice tradition in vocational education, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil stated, “As a university named after Ahi Evran-ı Veli and committed to the motto ‘Science, Art, Ethics in the Footsteps of Akhism,’ we are dedicated to connecting our students with distinguished professionals in their fields by inviting them to our campus.” He expressed his gratitude to all who contributed to the program and wished that the session would be beneficial for the students’ academic and social growth.
After Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil’s speech, the session continued with a talk by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Assoc. Prof. Dr. Safa Koçoğlu. During her talk, Deputy Minister Koçoğlu discussed volunteer projects, sharing her experience in youth work and volunteer-driven activities over many years. She emphasized that personal development requires more than just academic success and pointed out the strong impact of social activities on student growth. Koçoğlu also shared insights about her own path to becoming Deputy Minister and encouraged young people, expressing confidence in their potential. “Those without ambition today cannot build tomorrow,” she said, offering valuable advice to the students throughout the session.
At the end of the session, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil and Provincial Youth and Sports Director Yasin Çakmakçı presented a gift to Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Assoc. Prof. Dr. Safa Koçoğlu. The event concluded after a group photo was taken with the students.
