Kırşehir Ahi Evran University continues its sustainability efforts without interruption in line with the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings targets. In this context, the Sustainability Report 2025, prepared by the Sustainability Coordination Office has been published.
Kırşehir Ahi Evran University continues its efforts in line with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals and its vision of a sustainable campus, working to leave a more livable environment and world for future generations. To coordinate sustainability efforts, the Sustainability Coordination Directive was approved and the Sustainability Coordination Office was established in January 2025. As part of its sustainability work, the university organized various activities in December 2024 within the scope of the “We Are Also Here for Zero Waste” project to raise environmental awareness. With the zero waste project, the “Waste Plantal Oils Collection Program” was launched to promote environmental consciousness and support recycling processes. This program helps increase environmental awareness by encouraging both students and staff to collect used plantal oils in designated containers on campus. Additionally, Zero Waste Information Meetings were held in all academic and administrative units. During these meetings, the purpose, scope, and importance of zero waste practices were explained, and guidance was provided on the proper use of the waste-sorting bins placed across indoor and outdoor campus areas. With the implementation of the zero waste project across the entire campus, the university embraces environmental, social, and economic sustainability principles, promoting, practicing, and expanding sustainability in education, research, administration, and community engagement.
In the Sustainability Report 2025, prepared by the Sustainability Coordination Office in line with the goal of creating an environmentally friendly and sustainable campus, the university’s relationship with environmental and energy management policies is addressed in detail. The report includes projects carried out in areas such as energy efficiency, combating climate change, water and waste management, transportation, and educational and research activities. It also highlights the connection between Kirsehir Ahi Evran University’s Integrated Quality Management System (BKYS) and GreenMetric, emphasizing how quality processes contribute to the university’s sustainability performance.
