Kırşehir Ahi Evran University continues to take significant steps towards its sustainability goals. Committed to campus cleanliness and maintaining its status as an environmentally friendly university, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has acquired an Electric Recyclable Waste Collection Vehicle with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
Within the scope of the project submitted to the Turkish Environment Agency through the Environmental Issues Application and Research Center, with the support of the ministry, an Electric Recyclable Waste Collection Vehicle was obtained. This vehicle will be used to collect recyclable waste generated by the zero waste project from various units and transport it to temporary waste storage areas. The vehicle will also contribute to creating a cleaner environment by significantly reducing the environmental and noise pollution caused by fossil fuel-powered vehicles at the Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Central Campus.
In his assessment, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized that the Electric Recyclable Waste Collection Vehicle provided by the ministry is indicative of our university's vision for a greener campus, stating, “This grant is a significant support for our university's sustainability efforts.” Expressing that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University is working to leave a more livable world for future generations, Rector Karahocagil added that the Electric Recyclable Waste Collection Vehicle is not just a cleaning vehicle, but also an important step taken within the scope of our university's sustainability goals. Noting that the Electric Recyclable Waste Collection Vehicle will also activate our university's temporary waste storage area, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized that a Zero Waste Certificate Application will be made for our University's Central Campus as the process continues. Expressing his gratitude to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change for its contribution to the acquisition of the Electric Recyclable Waste Collection Vehicle for Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil added that they will continue their sustainability efforts without interruption.
