The event "Abundance from Akhism, Flavor from Family" commenced with an opening speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yener Oğan, Head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Kaman School of Applied Sciences. In his speech, Oğan addressed the objectives of the workshop and highlighted the significant role of Akhism culture in Turkish cuisine. Providing a scientific definition of gastronomy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yener Oğan emphasized that the field encompasses various dimensions, including cultural, social, artistic, and tourism-related aspects. He concluded his remarks by expressing his gratitude to all participants for their attendance.

Following Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yener Oğan’s speech, Lecturer Ecem Akay from the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Kaman School of Applied Sciences conducted a pastry training session for the university couples participating in the workshop. Together, they prepared tarts as part of the hands-on experience. While sharing the essential pastry techniques with the couples, Akay also provided a detailed explanation of the significance of the art of gastronomy.

The event aimed to reflect the core spirit of Akhism: labor, honesty, sharing, and solidarity. While Akhism stands as a cornerstone of Turkish culture—fostering brotherhood, honest earnings, and quality service among tradesmen and craftsmen—these principles also form the very foundation of every family. In this context, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University aims for this event to bridge Akhism values with our culinary heritage, strengthen the family bonds of our personnel, and ensure the legacy of Akhism continues to thrive.

President of the Kırşehir Ahi Businesswomen Association Duygu Dulkadir and the members of the association also participated in the "Abundance from Akhism, Flavor from Family" event to introduce their ongoing efforts in preserving the heritage of Akhism culture.
