Explaining that Ramadan fasting is a biopsychosocial act with biological, psychological, and social aspects that support metabolic adaptation, behavioral discipline, and spiritual awareness through planned and intermittent fasting, in addition to being a religious act of worship, Rector Karahocagil said, "Fasting is not just about abstaining from eating and drinking; it is also a way to gain spiritual discipline by avoiding sins, bad behavior, quarrels, and trivial matters in general." Noting that the month of Ramadan is a wonderful opportunity for healing, where the body meets the spirit and the spirit meets the body, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil added that the purpose of fasting during Ramadan is not just to go hungry, but also to reset the metabolism, purify the spirit, train the will, and raise the level of consciousness.
