Following the structural reforms implemented within Education Quality Assurance System Coordination Office, a comprehensive evaluation meeting was held on March 23, 2026, at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center, Fuat Sezgin Hall, to optimize institutional operations and strengthen coordination between units. The meeting was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, representatives of support offices, and members of unit support commissions.
Quality in Education is the Guarantee of the Future
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, delivering the opening speech of the meeting, outlined a strategic framework by emphasizing that "quality in education is the assurance of education and the guarantee of the future." He stated that in today's world, where information is rapidly transforming through digitalization and educational paradigms are being redefined, the fundamental responsibility of universities is to go beyond the transfer of knowledge and certify the quality of information according to international standards. In this regard, he noted that the Education Quality Assurance Coordination Office represents a critical threshold in our university's journey toward academic excellence.
Transition from Sectoral Leadership to the "Next Generation Learning Management System"
In his speech, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Özata referred to the institutional strength of our university's Ahi Competency-Based Education Portal (AYDEP) and Integrated Quality Management System (BKYS) applications, which serve as models in the field of higher education, and specifically recalled the strategic importance of AYDEP during the pandemic process. However, pointing out that existing systems must be developed in line with changing needs and stakeholder feedback, he announced that the transition process to the "Next Generation Learning Management System" has been initiated. In this context, he called upon all academic staff to participate in the process by transforming their systemic development suggestions into concrete needs analyses.
Activity Reports and Future Projection
In the continuation of the meeting, a detailed presentation regarding the activities carried out within the last month was delivered by Prof. Dr. Tezcan Kartal, Vice Coordinator of the Education Quality Assurance System (EKGS). It was shared that, during this process, the final stage has been reached primarily in the efforts to update the institutional legislation (directive).
In the final item of the agenda, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsa Bahat took the floor to explain the AYDEP process, providing information on the new restructuring process and operational requirements while expressing expectations between units. The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude to the participants after the distribution of tasks in line with strategic goals and the clarification of the work schedule.
