The “University-Supported NGO Capacity Building Program,” carried out in collaboration between the Office of Science Communication and the Coordination of Social Contribution at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and the Kırşehir Provincial Directorate of Civil Society Relations, was successfully completed following the final sessions and the certificate ceremony. Held on April 27, 2026 in the University’s Central Library Cinema Hall, the program marked the final stage of a seven-session training process aimed at enhancing the capacities of civil society organizations. The event was attended by academics, representatives of numerous civil society organizations active in Kırşehir, and students.

Latest Lessons: Structural Issues and Budget Management

On the final day of the program, two key topics were discussed. First, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Maruf delivered a presentation titled “The Structural and Functional Dimensions of Civil Society.” Maruf outlined the fundamental challenges faced by NGOs in their organizational structures and shared the steps that need to be taken to bridge the gap between the current situation and the established goals.

In the second session of the event, Assistant Professor Servet Taşdelen delivered a lecture titled “Budget Management for NGOs.” Emphasizing that budget management is critical to an organization’s sustainability, Taşdelen provided technical advice to the participants on managing financial processes.

Emphasis on City-University Collaboration

Following the completion of the training sessions, the ceremony for the presentation of participation certificates began. Speaking at the ceremony, Assistant Professor and Head of the Science Communication Office at the University’s Corporate Communications Coordination Unit Dr. Muzaffer Musab Yılmaz noted that this program served as a starting point. Yılmaz stated that they would continue similar initiatives to strengthen communication and cooperation between Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and local NGOs.
