As part of the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) Specialization Academy Kırşehir program, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil delivered a lecture titled “City and Civilization.” The event took place on April 29, 2026, at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center’s July 15 National Will Hall, and was organized by Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, TÜGVA, Specialized Academy, and Ziraat Katılım, the conference was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek and Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, TÜGVA Kırşehir Provincial Chairman Abdullah İnce, deans, directors, academic and administrative staff, and students.
As part of the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) Specialization Academy Kırşehir program, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil delivered a lecture titled “City and Civilization.” The event took place on April 29, 2026, at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center’s July 15 National Will Hall, and was organized by Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, TÜGVA, Specialized Academy, and Ziraat Katılım, the conference was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek and Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, TÜGVA Kırşehir Provincial Chairman Abdullah İnce, deans, directors, academic and administrative staff, and students.
Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil then took the floor and, in his presentation titled “City and Civilization,” noted that the concept of civilization derives from the root “Medine,” meaning “city,” and stated that cities are not merely physical structures but also reflections of culture, beliefs, and ways of life. In his speech, Rector Karahocagil also referenced the thoughts of prominent thinkers in this field and continued: “According to Farabi, who likens the city to the human body, a person can only attain true happiness within a social order. The name of this order, which enables society to achieve absolute happiness, is the Virtuous City.”
Continuing his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil also addressed the success of our university’s quality initiatives. He emphasized that the Akhism organization played a significant role in shaping the social, economic, and moral fabric of Anatolian cities, noting that Akhism is a time-honored system that embodies a philosophy of quality. Noting that quality should be sought not only in products and services but also in human character, integrity, and social structure, Rector Karahocagil explained that quality management systems at our university are shaped around the principles of Akhism and that continuous improvement is targeted through an internal quality assurance system.

At the conclusion of the conference, the Provincial Chairman of TÜGVA in Kırşehir Abdullah İnce presented a gift to Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil in recognition of his contributions. The conference concluded with a group photo.
