Kırşehir Ahi Evran University continues its efforts under the motto “Science, Art, and Ethics in the Footsteps of Ahilik” without slowing down. Grounded in the values of Ahilik and committed to training high-quality individuals, the university places great importance on the education of young people—the architects of our future—and continues to achieve success in every field, from science to art and from academia to technology. In this context, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil gathered with members of the press for a lunch meeting to share the achievements and changes at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University since he came into office. The press conference held on May 12, 2026 at the Yunus Emre Conference Hall and attended by the Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, and Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, General Secretary Dr. Assoc. Prof. Hüseyin İlter, academic and administrative staff, and members of the press.

Contributions to Regional Development Through Projects in the Agricultural and Geothermal Sectors

Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil gave a presentation to members of the press, detailing Kırşehir Ahi Evran University's physical transformation along with its academic and scientific achievements, as well as its social and cultural activities since he took office. In his presentation, Rector Karahocagil touched upon the number of students and stated that they continue their education with expert academic staff, noting that they raise their students with a quality education approach rooted in Ahilik values. Explaining the process of the university becoming a pilot university in 2016 and the current status of the projects, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil expressed that significant contributions have been made to the region and the province through important projects in the fields of agriculture and geothermal energy, and he also described the new specialization projects planned for the university.

KAEU Continues to Serve as a Role Model in Quality Initiatives

Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil also touched upon the success of quality studies that serve as a role model for Turkish Higher Education and other institutions, stating, “Our university has made a great difference thanks to the internal quality assurance systems and related software (BKYS and AYDEP) it developed with its own resources in education and management.” Noting that the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System process was extended for a third three-year term as part of the university's quality studies, Rector Karahocagil recorded that it was the first university among those established after 2006 to receive 5-year full accreditation in the institutional accreditation program, adding that numerous departments and programs within the university have received accreditation certificates. Stating that the university's efforts in the field of quality will continue, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University crowned this success with the “5-Star Competence in Outstanding Performance” award. Expressing that the university has achieved significant success within the scope of the R&D Directorate in addition to its success in quality, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil added that they contribute to science and technology by developing projects in many areas.

Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Ranks at the Top in Every Category

Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil stated that they have also witnessed the achievements of our university which consistently makes a name for itself through academic, scientific, and socio-cultural studies in world rankings, noting that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University continues its rise in various international rankings and increases its global visibility. Indicating that our university also stands out with student projects, Rector Karahocagil mentioned that numerous projects by our students have been awarded within the scope of ÜNİDES.

Hosted Academic and Scientific Studies

Rector Karahocagil also provided information about the scientific and academic studies carried out at the university, noted that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has hosted numerous congresses, symposia, and workshops since the day he took office. Stating that they have been holding the Term Presidency of the Strategic Association of KOP Region Universities (ÜNİKOP) on behalf of our university since 2025, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized that they have been organizing the Cacabey Science and Culture Festivals for three years to preserve the city's cultural heritage. He added that the university will also host the 5th R&D Market and Promotion Days this year, contributing significantly to university-city integration through these activities. Providing information about the Science Center, National Technology Workshop, and Technopark that our university will implement in the field of technology, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil added that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University will achieve success in every field.

Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil included all the work carried out at our university from the past to the present in his presentation, and also provided information about investment projects and explained the completed, ongoing, and planned works one by one. At the end of his presentation, Rector Karahocagil touched upon our university's infrastructure works, social contribution projects, academic, scientific, and sporting achievements in the national and international arenas, internationalization efforts, and stakeholder relations, stating that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University will continue to be the shining star of both Kırşehir and its region. Concluding his speech by providing information about the celebration program for the 20th anniversary of our university's foundation, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil invited all members of the press to the celebration ceremony to be held on May 15, 2026.
