Yandex Turkey and SBTU are inviting students to develop AI solutions for Turkey.

Open to university students across Turkey, the Anadolu Hackathon—which will accept applications until April 8—will be held online from April 13 to 22. Yandex experts will provide mentorship during the competition, and top performers will receive cash prizes and various gifts.

Applications are now open for the “Anadolu Hackathon,” organized by Yandex Turkey in collaboration with Sivas Science and Technology University (SBTU) and with the support of the Anatolian Universities Union. The hackathon aims to contribute to Turkey’s sustainable development by generating innovative, technology-based solutions to real-world problems.

The Anadolu Hackathon, which will take place online from April 13–22, will hold its award ceremony in Sivas. Cash prizes will be awarded to participants who develop the best solutions in each category, while finalists will receive special gifts.

Applications are open to all university students in Turkey and can be submitted through the official website until April 8: https://hackaton.sivas.edu.tr

A New Hackathon for Anatolia

The Anatolia Hackathon, which aims to provide students with more opportunities in education and career development by combining Yandex Turkey’s expertise in artificial intelligence and technology with SBTU’s academic support, is the first competition of its kind in Anatolia.

During the one-week online hackathon, participants will work in teams to develop solutions for three real-world cases inspired by daily life, such as mobility, logistics, and timely access to information. The challenges are designed based on data-driven, practical scenarios that can be implemented in real life across Turkey. This will encourage teams to go beyond theoretical approaches and develop ideas that are both implementable and scalable.

Skills, Mentorship, and Real-Life Scenarios

The hackathon is open to all students interested in product and project management, machine learning engineering, data science, software development, and analytics. Participants will work on synthetic datasets simulating real-world scenarios and receive mentorship support from Yandex experts throughout the solution development process.

Applications for the Anatolia Hackathon will remain open until April 8; the online competition will begin on April 13. During the Hackathon, participants will have the opportunity to join Q&A sessions with the case study creators and will be evaluated by a jury on their products and technical solutions at specific stages. The top three teams for each of the three cases will have the opportunity to present their solutions in the final round.

The Hackathon will conclude with a physical closing event in Sivas, where the finalists’ successful solutions will be celebrated. Reflecting Sivas’s growing role in supporting and advancing STEM education in the region, the event will feature inspiring talks by renowned academics and industry professionals.
